Intel Reveals Credit Card Sized Modular Computer

At CES 2017, Intel reveals new modular computer called Compute Card. The Compute card has a size similar to your credit card which is designed to convert computing way. It consists of all the elements of a typical PC. For example, Intel SoC, memory, storage and wireless connectivity with flexible I/O options.

This credit card sized modular computer comes in size 95mm x 55mm x 5mm. It offers an optimal solution to power everything from entry-level to full-featured host devices.

Features of this modular computer- Compute card:

  • Save on engineering and design costs with a standardized I/O interface designed to support multiple devices.
  • Equipped with a range of processors, including 7th Gen Intel® Coreâ„¢ vProâ„¢ processor, to handle the toughest computing needs.
  • Includes built-in integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
  • Reduce the number of SKUs to manage through Compute card enabled devices. Scale quickly when demand dictates.
  • Low wattage computing with cooling integrated with the dock.
  • Hardware replacement is as simple as swapping the existing Compute card for a new one.
  • Whether installed internally or inserted externally, the Compute card remains secure via an integrated locking mechanism.

As the company reported, the Compute card will available on the mid of 2017. It will come with a wide range of variety processors options, including the latest 7th Gen Intel Core processors.
