Now, 50% more Indians looking for Online Dating: Google

Google is a powerful tool for anything particularly. Even when people search for dating online. General public attitudes towards online dating have become much more positive in recent years. And social networking sites are now playing a prominent role when it comes to navigating and documenting romantic relationships. A new survey also found that more than 50% Indians finds for online dating.

Google suggests that 50% more Indians are now using the Internet to find prospective dating partners.

Their report reveals, “Searches and app downloads for dating were hand in glove in 2016. Dating related searches grew by 50 per cent, along with a 53 per cent increase in downloads for dating apps.”

Its not the only thing, but they are also finding the medium to plan their weddings. This indirectly even increased the online matrimony market to double from Rs 492 crore. And the expected value will be Rs 1,197 crore by 2020.

Rajan Anandan, Google India’s vice president and managing director said, “The year 2016 turned out to be “transformation year” for India. Although, India emerged as the second largest internet and smart phone economy in the world. More than 350 million connected citizens and 220 million smart phone users are smart phone users in India.”

In addition, Google reveals, consumers’ interest is rise by 30% in wedding stuffs. For example, photographers, wedding planning, bridal wear, etc.

According to report, women buy 77% more apparel and 62% more beauty products online. At the other hand, men are not far behind with 43% of them looking for grooming tips online.

The reports do not only suggests about online dating or beauty products only, but it also recorded a growth in the Internet users who were watching videos to learn something new.

Anandan said, “32% of the Internet users watch online videos to stay up-to-date with trends and over 50%of Indian internet users are watching online videos to learn something new.
