Various researchers have told various health benefits of exercise. Previously, I also wrote about some major benefits of exercise. It has various benefits like it help meth addicts to avoid relapse. It enhances and maintains physical fitness, overall health, and wellness. Frequent and regular physical workout boosts the immune system and helps prevent diseases of affluence. There is always new study or article available on how much exercise we need to stay healthy.
Many people hating exercise because they find it hard to do whereas some people ignore it due to their laziness. Many lazy people push beyond their intrinsic range when they try to exercise too quickly or intensely. This makes them hate the activity and wants to stop. But scientists think something different. They suggest genes that modulate dopamine in the brain may play a role in a person’s propensity to embrace or avoid the workout.
Rodney Dishman said, “Family and twin studies indicate that 20 to 60 percent of the variation in human physical activity can be inherited, but the genetic sources of voluntary physical activity are poorly understood. interact to cause people and animals to voluntarily engage in, or purposely avoid exercise. This activity of neurons in the brain controls dopamine. Particularly, they play a role in providing the motivation to exercise.”
The research also suggests that the personality and behavioral traits, such as goal-setting, self-regulation, fitness and skill levels; social influences; access to fitness activities; and other factors weigh on an individual’s propensity toward voluntary exercise.
Dishman said, “Our current field trial with humans suggests that variations in genes that encode for dopamine and other neurotransmitters linked with physical activity account for low or high physical activity directly. These genes also act indirectly, by their associations with people’s acquired motivation to be active and also with select personality traits.”
