Nowadays, the effect of cellphone radiations on human health is a subject of interest and being studied worldwide. Everyone carries a cellphone and every wireless handset emits a certain level of radio frequencies. RFs can break down tissue in the body and wreak havoc with DNA.
Large doses of radio waves are believed to cause cancer, leukaemia, and other disorders. Many scientific studies have investigated possible health symptoms of cell phone radiation. In the previous article, I have shared brief information about radiation and its effects on humans.
Now scientists have developed a new material that efficiently block electromagnetic waves emitting from mobile phones, televisions, microwave ovens, and other appliances.
Scientists from Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) in Seoul and Drexel University in the US develop this material. The material made up of MXene. In material science, MXenes are a class of two-dimensional inorganic compounds made of titanium and carbon. It has a single layer only about one nanometre. These materials consist of few atoms thick layers of transition metal carbonitride.
Scientists discovered MXene can block cellphone radiations. It can also block electromagnetic waves emitted from televisions, microwave ovens and other appliances. According to scientists, the material has an easy process and almost inexpensive in cost.
Gu Jong-min, research leader said, “The developed material can be used not only to block electromagnetic waves but for other various purposes.”
